Mercedes-Benz USA CEO Steve Cannon has revealed some new details about the company's future product lineup.
Speaking with USA Today, the executive said the company will introduce 19 facelifted or redesigned models as well as 11 brand-new vehicles by 2020. Cannon also confirmed Mercedes-Benz will introduce a C-Class Convertible to battle droptop variants of the Audi A5 and BMW 3- / 4-Series.
Besides talking about the convertible, Cannon said the upcoming S-Class Pullman will have a wheelbase that is 10 inches (254mm) longer than the standard model. He also described the car as an "awesome alternative" to the discontinued Maybach lineup.
Despite the plethora of new vehicles, Cannon doesn't think they will cannibalize sales from existing models. Instead, he believes "In most cases, our expansion really provides us with an opportunity to talk to a new customer."
