With the coming of spring, March is the perfect time to
start fresh and take part in Health Awareness Month. We will be holding a
Spring Service Health Fair here at the dealership to promote the health of our
wonderful clients as well as their Mercedes-Benz on Saturday, March 21, and you're invited. Until then, we have asked two of our associates that are very
dedicated to their healthy lifestyles a few questions so that we may pass on a
few tid-bits of info on to you.
1. What are a few simple changes
people can do to follow a more healthy lifestyle?
Eddie Adolph: Eat better quality foods, pack your lunches,
portion control, cut out the sugary drinks, drink more water, and try to move
around for at least 5 minutes every hour.
Stephanie Hurstrom: Eat fresh veggies, no processed foods.
2. What are some of your most
recommended exercises?
EA: Jogging,
squats, push-ups, burpees, pull-ups, dips, lunges, leg lifts and planks.
SH: Any
type of cardio, squats, push-ups, crunches.
3. Are there any venues you highly
recommend for any particular type of workout?
EA: The world
is your venue. You don't need a gym to get into shape.
4. What is the best post workout type
of food? Do you have a favorite hotspot you like to go to?
EA: PROTEINS!
I enjoy a post workout protein shake and a couple hard boiled eggs.
SH: I
prefer to have some form of protein after my work out.
5. What inspired you to be fit?
EA: I
use to weigh 290 lbs and health problems run in my family. I knew I had to make
a change to live.
SH: At
48 years old, I love the way I look and feel.
6. Do you have any suggestions for
getting children involved in fitness awareness/activity?
EA: Don't
make it a chore. Be active in something you love to do so you do it often.
SH: Keep
them busy with fun outdoor activities, and join in with them.
7. What are some goals you set for
yourself?
EA: Get in the
best shape possible, keep a clean and healthy lifestyle.
8. What helps you stay on track for
those goals?
EA: Results!!!!
9. What are some recommendations when
dining out? Where are your favorite restaurants with good choices? Where are
your splurges?
EA: When
dining out stick with water or unsweetened teas, try to stay away from breads,
and pasta. My favorite right now is a place called Bondi in Huntington Beach. I
get a naked burger and sweet potato fries. I splurge on frozen yogurt and my
grandmas baking! I keep such a low calorie intake that when I do splurge it
doesn't affect my progress.
SH: I
always have chicken fajitas, cook with very little oil when I'm in a situation
that I have to eat out.
10. Is there anything else you'd like
to add in?
EA: You have to want to change your lifestyle. Crash
diets don't work. Surround yourself with people who have the same or similar
fitness goals. And love your body and where you are at even if you aren't in
the shape you want to be in.
